Day 10:
Good evening,
Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Zane. Great job Zane!
French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s
blog for more information.
Journal: Today, students focused on writing lists. We discussed the importance of
writing numbers down the left side of the page. Students were given these
instructions: List three words that have the “T/t” sound.
Math: Today, students reviewed ten-frame
math with an extension to numbers from 11-20. Then, I displayed a 2 column
table on the board and students were asked to show me a number (16). I
explained that if I put 10 counters in one column, how many counters will I have
to put in the second column to get 16 counters all together? We practiced
counting to twenty and practiced answering word problems such as: 16 is 10 and
6. Finally, students worked
collaboratively to complete a page in their Math Workbooks.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students reviewed what cows
give us. Focusing mainly on Milk, we read a book called, “What’s for lunch?
Milk” then discussed different foods that are made with and from Milk. Look
what we came up with:
Lunch/ Recess 2
Gym: Please see Mrs. Jans’ blog
for more information.
