Day 9:
Good evening,
War Amps Assembly – Students sat and listened to a
presentation from Melissa from War Amps. We brought awareness to children and
adults who are amputees.
Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Mateo. Great job Mateo!
Phonics: Today, the students were introduced to the “T/t” sounds, action and song.
We watched a video, “Geraldine learns the “t” sound” and brainstormed a list of
words with the “T/t” sound on the board.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Read Aloud: Today, we discussed what it means to be an
Inquirer. We talked about how asking questions and wondering are great things.
We then talked about some examples of questions and when some good times are to
ask them. Then, students listened while I read, “Curious George and the Puppies”.
We discussed how George is an Inquirer and students drew a picture.
Math: Today, the students continued learning about ten-frame Math. Students
completed some examples collaboratively from the board. Then, students were to
go to their groups where they worked collaboratively to complete a page out of
their math books.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, we discussed Cows and what they provide us. We watched a video, “Where
does Milk come from?” and discussed some other goodies that can be made with
the help of cows: cheese, ice cream, chocolate milk, yogurt, tacos, steak,
