Day 2:
Good evening,
House Game: We
gathered in our houses to play a house game hosted by Zeta! Look at how
much fun it was!
Calendar: Today’s calendar
was led by Veda. Great job Veda!
Read Aloud: Today, students
listened to the book, “Ready, Set, School!” We were able to discuss how new
experiences are scary but can always be fun! Like the first few days of school :)
French: Please see Mlle. Jessica’s blog
for more information.
Journal: Today, students were given the prompt "My name is..." and were asked to copy and finish the sentence. They were then asked to draw a picture of themselves in the blank space provided at the top of the page.
Math: Today, the students practiced
counting and writing numbers to ten. We counted all of the boys, all of the
girls, and all of our friends all together. We then went to our desks to work
collaboratively with our group mates where we practiced writing and spelling
our numbers.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students
listened to a story called, "Down on the Farm." The students listened
and learned the different animals you’d see on a farm. Students then discussed
their favourite meat and completed a Meat Matching worksheet.
Lunch/ Recess 2
Gym: Please see Mr. McDonald’s blog
for more information.
Essential Agreement and
Classroom Rules Discussed: Students listened while I read, "No, David!" We then discussed some classroom rules and created our Essential Agreement for our classroom.
