Day 12:
Good evening,
Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Neel. Great job Neel!
Journal: Today, students focused on writing lists. We discussed the importance of
writing numbers down the left side of the page. Students were given these
instructions: List three words that have the “I/i” sound.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Math: Today, students reviewed ten-frame
math with an extension to numbers from 11-20. First, we practiced our numbers
with 1-20 flashcards. Then we completed a few examples on the board where
students were interactively demonstrating their knowledge by standing to
represent their missing number. Students then went to their desks where they
completed a page from their math books collaboratively with their group mates.
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students reviewed what cows
give us. Focusing mainly on the process of milk. Next, students were introduced
to butter and how its made. Students watched a video called, “Let’s make
Butter! - #sciencegoals”. Students learned how to make butter and what to
expect tomorrow when we actually make butter as a class! We then discussed some
yummy foods that we like to spread butter on.
